About the event
Rise early and be in place for curtains up at the greatest symphony in the world, the Dawn Chorus.
Around this time each year, the chorus reaches its peak for species singing and volume, in the dark, the first Blackbirds and Robins will start the concerto, before Blackcaps, Chiffchaff, Dunnocks, Tit species, Woodpeckers, Crests maybe if we are lucky, a distant Cuckoo join in towards a crescendo. By breakfast time, the show is over and we will head home for bacon sandwiches and (no doubt) a well earned nap.
This is a fantastic mindfulness activity so I would actively encourage people to bring a notebook and journal the experience.
Bring a chair, warm clothes (plenty of layers) bins and scopes are not vital as this is all about the sound, but, feel free to bring them should you wish. I would definitely recommend a hot drink!
