Welcome to James Cutting Nature.
A space where a passion for wildlife, birdwatching, mental health, and nature conservation comes to life. Here, you’ll discover inspiring stories, personal reflections, and expert articles that explore how reconnecting with the natural world can support wellbeing and spark meaningful change.
Whether you’re an experienced birdwatcher, a mental health advocate, or simply curious about the healing power of nature, this site offers resources, insights, and real-life experiences to inform, uplift, and inspire.
At James Cutting Nature, I share my journey through anxiety, depression, and recovery, guided by birdsong, wild places, and a deep belief in nature’s ability to restore the soul.
Let’s explore the outdoors together and celebrate the wild beauty that connects us all.
About
I'm James, I am a naturalist, conservationist, writer, and presenter. My love of nature has been my lifes passion and has been my source of inspiration, recovery and therapy. Suffering from poor mental health for many years, I know first hand the incredible power of nature as a healer and comfort for those who suffer.
Blog
Here you will find some of my writing. It varies from personal stories, wildlife news, trip reports and discussions about mental health. It is quite a mixed bag. I am always happy to discuss any writing commissions you may have in mind and would love to hear from you if you believe, like I do, I can add value to your content.
